Win32:Enistery [Susp]

While dealing with another problem that thankfully turned out to be a false-positive, I downloaded Avast to have a second opinion to my usual virus scanner. (Norton)

Every so often Avast supposedly blocks and quarantines files that are supposedly infected by Win32:Enistery [Susp]. It’s been happening once or twice ever since I installed Avast probably not even a week ago.

What I find odd is that I’ve run entire scans and nothing comes up. Norton, Avast, even Malwarebytes brings back nothing. So far everything’s blocked and apparently peachy, but with these things still popping up it concerns me. (I tend to be a worrywart when it comes to even getting a minor virus. Thankfully this is perhaps the third time I’ve ever had one.)

Can anyone give me a hand and/or an explanation? my stomach churns every time I hear Avast ding at me about this issue.

Could you attach a screen shot of the avast popup as that has more information on it

Unfortunately it’s not up anymore, is there anything else I can attach that would give you the information you need? I can pull up my virus chest and go through that if I need to, but I’m still new to Avast so anything beyond obvious I might need instructions on how to get to.

You need to remove Norton completely. Never use two av's on one system at the same time. http://blog.kaspersky.com/multiple-antivirus-programs-bad-idea/

It will be in the virus chest so if you could see what file it is associated with

Right click the orange blob in the tray and select virus chest

Here’s what I have so far…I’ve been busy the last week or so so dealing with this computer has been lower on my priority list than I would have wanted it to be.

so temp files, located in CurseClient http://mods.curse.com/client

Every so often Avast supposedly blocks and quarantines files that are supposedly infected by Win32:Enistery [Susp]
Win32:Enistery [Susp] = Suspicious

Makes sense…I like you folks already. the Norton forums would just tell me to run Removal and Reinstall, Power Eraser, or some other junk without telling me the logic or teaching me how to proverbially fish. I may not be a genius at computers but I can understand basics. It’s nice to see people who understand that.

Strangely, Curse has been updating, not to mention it doesn’t quite explain the few entries that stem from google. I suppose I could have been on a curse-related website at the time, though…

[susp] files may not be actual infections but files and programs that are very, very new and avast doesnt recognise and also false positives, i was getting them with league of legends not too long ago and GoG’s galaxy steamlike game downloader.

But it is still a good idea to always double check.

Another two suspected hits just now, could only catch one before the popup went away

as seen on the pic … Process is from Norton > so most likely a program conflict because you run two AV

To be able to do something with this, we need the files that are detected. Once you have it, send it over via https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php so we can analyze them
