"Win32:Filcout-A [Adw]" virus.

I’ve just received today a mail notification from the avast agent I installed on a friend computer:

avast! [COMPUTER-NAME] : File “C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\File Scout\filescout.exe” is infected by “Win32:Filcout-A [Adw]” virus.

VPS file version is: 140511-0, 11/05/2014

Checking http://www.avast.com/en-us/virus-update-history on the last 12 months, I can see that this signature “Win32:Filcout-A [Adw]” first raise on 3.5.2014 - 140503-0 (a few days ago)

So I guess that’s the reason why I didn’t find any reference to Win32:Filcout-A on this forum.

Of course, by looking for Win32:Filcout-A on the internet, I get many rogue trojan-virus-and-everything-cleaner  websites but anything from “serious” antivirus providers.

So what should I do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool by Farbar and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

[*]Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
[*]Under Optional Scan ensure “List BCD” and “Driver MD5” are ticked.
[*]Press Scan button.
[*]It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
[*]The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
