What file is detected as being infected?
What is its location?
What OS?
What is Jotti reporting about it?
The file was contained in a zip file with sample source code for a developer’s book, but I’ve deleted it.
My question was about the virus called Win32:Flata-B.
This virus name is unknown in the Avast Web site; so my question is where can I find info about this virus?
Many Thanks.
Look here for the aliases http://www.virusbtn.com/perlbin/vgrep/vgrep.cgi?terms=flata&product=0
many thanks for the helpful link. I’ve added it to my favorites.
Thank you
Keep in mind that although Vgrep knows a lot of virusses, that it is not up-to-date. So newer virusses may not yet be in the database.
Hello,
I'm getting an warning when i download the code of O'Reilly Asp.net in a Nutshell second edition. At http://examples.oreilly.com/aspdotnetnut2/ i got "Win32:Flata-B" detected (aspnetian_code.zip aspnetian_code\Chapter_01\namespaces.dll).
At https://www.virusbtn.com/perlbin/vgrep/vgrep.cgi?terms=flata&product=0 i see that the virus only infects exe. It's an false positive?
fast feedback is welcome,
Pedro
Maybe you should submit the file to Jotti or VirusTotal or even test the link with Dr.Web context menu.
Without the especific file link I can’t test it with Dr.Web.
Anyway, it’s not good to post here in forums a live link to an infected (or false positive) file.
