Win32:Hupigon-ONX [Trj] in pagefile.sys

The reason I haven’t posted the logs is because…

I have Avast for Linux which I just used to scan my windows partition.

It has found

‘Win32:Hupigon-ONX [Trj]’ in file pagefile.sys

on the windows drive.

I have not booted to the windows partition so I have not run malwarebytes or OTS to create the logs.

Should I just delete pagefile.sys, boot to windows and create the logs you need?

Very much like a false positive. Scanning a page file is pointless, it contains a lot of random junk which can cause this. There is a good reason why it is excluded by default in Avast for Windows.

Thanks! Then I’ll just delete pagefile.sys

I should add that a few days ago this same windows install had
Rootkit.TDSS, Broken.OpenCommand, Trojan.Hiloti and Trojan.FakeAV!gen42
reported and removed by malwarebytes and norton.
