I was running my Avast! 4.8 this morning and got a warning about two Win32:malware-gen,
I tried moving it to Chest but it said there was an error. I also tried repairing but that also
wouldn’t work. I ran my Malwarebyte’s Anti-malware and nothing shows up (I’m currently
running it again). Do you think this maybe an False positive? If it isn’t how can I get rid of this? ???
I updated my avast to 5.0 but it won’t allow me to run boot time scan…
It says its only available for 32bit operating systems… I have no clue what
this means
I ran Mbam, it didn’t find anything. Now what should I
do? I also ran Avast (Quick scan) and now it says nothings
there… When I ran quick scan on the 4.8 version it said I had
two infected files.
No,it’s running like it normally does. It’s weird when I had
the older version of avast it showed up but mbam never
picked up anything… Also, the new version of avast said
my system is clean. ??? Maybe a quirk? Is there anything
else I should do to make sure I don’t have a virus or to find
if it is hidden?
If your system is running fine, it could be just a problem with an old VPS version.
If you know the related files you can check them at virustotal.com
asyn
Sometimes an update VPS will fix the problem. However, if you have a 32-bit machine, run an Avast Boot-time scan as well (it will take a while to run). If that comes out clean, then you can whistle. ;D
