Been having problems with these 3 viruses. The usual stuff I feel on this forum. Just want to get rid of them so hopefully somebody here is willing to assist me in doing that.
PS. Got these yesterday and ever since then Avast has been popping up with warnings.

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
[*]Open OTL again and click the Quick Scan button. Post the log it produces in your next reply.

THEN

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/ried7/NSIS_extraction.png

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

FINALLY

run farbar service scanner

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/FSS.GIF

Tick “All” options.
Press “Scan”.
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.

Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

So I’m in the middle of Combofix and I get this error/warning http://www34.zippyshare.com/v/86122114/file.html (picture <-)-. The thing is I disabled Avast’s shield for until restart and I don’t know if theres more i can do to disable it.

No that is OK it is detecting the Avast self protection service

Do not allow Avast to sandbox or quarantine anything whilst combofix is running… So accept the warning and go for it

Alright there we go. So far no pop-ups from Avast. I’ll let you know if anything comes up again, but so far thank you so much sir!

Anyway, I got you back 2 logs. No log from Combofix as I don’t know where to find it.

The log should be at C:\combofix.txt

How is the computer behaving now ?

The PC is behaving as it was before being infected, but to be honest there was no real change when it was infected - only the pop ups from avast, so I guess no real harm done. So all in all things seem to be good so far (Y).

Here’s the Combofix log.

Hmm combofix did not complete could you re-run it please

Avast was actually blocking the malware from downloading its friends which, if it hadn’t, is when you would have seen problems

I guess I’ll give combofix another run then. :stuck_out_tongue:

It killed and replaced the main bad boys but I just need to check the remaining drivers out

Alright buddy, there was no reboot this time, just went through all the stages and gave me this long log.

Looks good what problems remain

None so far. Thanks for the great support. I really appreciate your time!

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL
[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

:Commands [resethosts] [emptytemp] [Reboot]

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done

Remove ComboFix

[*]Hold down the Windows key + R on your keyboard. This will display the Run dialogue box
[*]In the Run box, type in ComboFix /Uninstall (Notice the space between the “x” and “/”) then click OK

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee362/Essexboy3/Misc%20screen%20shots/CF_Uninstall-1.jpg

[]Follow the prompts on the screen
[
]A message should appear confirming that ComboFix was uninstalled

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that

[*]Go to control panel
[*]Select folder options (Appearance > Folder options in category view)
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[
]Click OK.

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

Malwarebytes. Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated. To keep your operating system up to date visit

[*]Microsoft Windows Update

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read our little guide How did I get infected in the first place ?

Keep safe

Okay so I pretty much cleaned everything up - one thing though that has come up after doing these procedures. When I watch videos from very specific places (such as gorillavid or sockshare) my PC tends to shut down every 10 minutes. Now this has happened to me before and it is the reason why I got a new fan in my PC - and since then it has been okay. But after this wave of trojans it has started to shut itself down again. So I know this question is a bit out of place, but maybe it might have something to do with the trojans damaging my RAM, Hard drive ,or whatever, because the PC doesn’t overheat according to the temperature - again, it just shuts itself down when watching a video. Any ideas? :frowning:

The malware will not affect your hardware in any way

Did you check the Video card temperature ?

How can I check that?

Download Speedfan and install it.
Once it’s installed, run the program and post here the information it shows.
The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.
If you are running on a vista machine, please go to where you installed the program and run the program as administrator.

http://artellos.geekstogo.com/speedfan.png
(this is a screenshot from a vista machine)

Should I do one normally and one while watching a video?

Alright.

1st one is normally: http://www35.zippyshare.com/v/28060952/file.html

2nd one is when watching a video: http://www35.zippyshare.com/v/52267861/file.html

There is a change, but by 2 degrees only.

EDIT: When I watch stuff on youtube it gets way more heated, but it doesnt shut itself down. So this is just too weird and confusing.
