I don’t know if this is a new virus, but I thought I should post that it hit my Son’s computer a day ago. He Downloads from File sharing sites such as Warez, & Shareaza. I’m seperated from his Mother and this was on Her machine. I had to clean up the mess though ::slight_smile: He has too much freedom online , but that’s another story ;D
I did a Boot Time Scan to remove All files; Win32:Mopy[wrm] CRACK.EXE . It took 40 minutes to delete them all, and was probably around 40,000 files.
Hope this is of some help, and I’m not just stating a well known Virus.
Point being, Avast! 4.5 saved the day! ;D

Perhaps if you follow the instructions in the malware removal section (click on my signature), you are able to remove even more bad things.

If you have a NT based system (XP/2k/2k3/NT), I suggest you give your son a limited account and set some restrictions.

Yes, we tried this awhile back, but he ended up as the Administrator, on Xp , and it was a disaster. ;) I hear you though, and I must be more vigilant and research this option further ; again thanks for your advice.

@ your site I find it difficult to navigate, only speak English. I suppose I have to spend more time looking for the "right" section ???
