I have been wondering the same thing the past two days; What is this pesky “trojan” that keeps showing up in temp files called “NcaseSpy”?
So, I ran “SpyBot”, noticing that this file so obviously called itself a “Spy”. And, sure enough it is spyware, not a trojan horse, or any other kind of virus. (Go ahead, breathe a sigh of relief, and take that baseball bat out of your hands! There is no need to destroy your Windows based PC.)
NcaseSpy is put out by www.180solutions.com. It is sent to you when you enter info like your name or age or location on a website they have involvement with. For more information about this go to: www.180solutions.com/n-CASE/consumers.
And, my friends, I hate to say it, but; Avast! let us down on this one. But, for those of us who like shareware, we can find the victory through our friend “SpyBot”.
Since NcaseSpy is not a virus, how did avast! let anyone down? ???
Anything “Ncase” is spyware and has been around for a few years. As you’ve found out, Spybot S&D will get rid of it. Along with using SpyBot, I would also suggest you use Adaware. These 2 anti-spyware programs work very well. And, what one doesn’t detect, the other one most likely will. 
Both programs are freeware … or have a freeware version.
