Okay, so about a day or two back I was checking my virus chest and it was filled with 50+ of these Win32:DNSChanger-VJ [Trj]s from C:\Windows\Installer{6a0b8d1a…}. I had no idea what they were so I deleted them all from my chest. Then last night I ran a boot scan just for maintenance and it found a Win32:Sirefef-PL [Rtk] in my Windows\assembly\GAC_32 folder and was asking if I was sure I wanted I wanted to move it to the chest. The file was desktop.ini by the way. So I moved that one to the chest and seconds later it found another one in the Windows folder and once again asked me if I wanted to move it. I wasn’t sure and thought this could be dangerous so I stopped the scan and logged into my account to be greeted by a black screen with “Windows 7 build 7… This copy is not genuine” in the lower right corner. It just sat like that for a minute or two then it brought my desktop and icons back up. It is not possible the my Windows is not genuine since this is the operating system I got with my computer when I bought it. So I restarted my computer and logged back in and it didn’t do it this time, it just went straight to my desktop. I don’t know what I should do, I don’t want my computer to be infected with whatever this is but I don’t want to destroy my computer to the point of “not being genuine”. Thank you for reading.
Could you follow the steps in the sticky please http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
Okay, here is the mbam-log.
And here is the OTL log, I couldn’t figure out how to edit the encoding so I hope this is right.
Okay, here is the Extras.Txt.
was your acer machine delivered with a preinstalled Norton antivirus?
did you remove it before installing avast?
Here is the last log. I think it may have had a trial offer, but I uninstalled it before I put Avast on my system.
i see some leftover files in there…so you should have run a removal tool after uninstall
anyway, Essexboy will remove them when he start the cleaning process

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now
Here is the OTL quickscan log. I figured out how to save it as ANSI encoding if that helps.
I ran ComboFix and it showed the screen with the green text and such for a couple seconds and was doing whatever it is supposed to do but then the window went away and did not leave any sort of log on my desktop. As to your instructions I did not run it again.
I figured out how to save it as ANSI encoding if that helps.yes it does.... or else it would look like chinese ;D
not on desktop but at C:\ComboFix.txt
I looked there, I will attach a picture that shows what happens.
Also I think ComboFix made this… folder? In my C:/ drive.
And when I click through that it just takes me back to the computer screen, as shown.
OK it appears that that I may need to disable your cd emulator
Please download DeFogger and save it to your desktop.
[*]Once downloaded, double-click on the DeFogger icon to start the tool.
[*]The application window will appear.
[*]You should now click on the Disable button to disable your CD Emulation drivers.
[*]When it prompts you whether or not you want to continue, please click on the Yes button to continue.
[*]When the program has completed you will see a Finished! message. Click on the OK button to exit the program.
[*]If CD Emulation programs are present and have been disabled, DeFogger will now ask you to reboot the machine. Please allow it to do so by clicking on the OK button.
THEN
Please retry Combofix
I ran DeFogger and it disabled my CD Emulation program and I rebooted. I ran ComboFix again but I still got no ComboFix.txt in my C:/ drive and I got the same folder that brings me back to my computer window.
OK I have two options now… One is to work outside of windows and the other is to use AVP… Do you have a wiindows CD for the recovery console ?
I don’t think I have a Windows CD, my OS came with the computer.
