win32:sirefef=ZT Detects but won't let me move it to the chest

Hi. I am not a very experienced computer user. Any help would be so appreciated.

Avast has detected something called win32:sirefef=ZT. However, it won’t let me move it to the chest or delete it. I keep getting popup messages from Avast about it. The pop ups say that it has been detected and blocked. My PC is running slower. I don’t know how to get rid of it.

Please help. Thank you so much.

go to the virus an worms forum section…on top there you find a “logs to assist in cleaning malware”
follow the guide and you will get help sometime tomorrow

hi zeens,

Yes, go to virus and worms section and and get the diagnostic programs you need from there.

Just a note: At times a needed system file is infected by such an agent such as win32:serefef-ZT, and the request to move it to the chest or delete it is denied to you because to allow this action could result in a broken operating system; detection and blocking is sufficient to keep sirefef at bay and will prevent deeper damage to your system as long as you allow Avast! to protect you. Fortunate you are, that as of now, your PC is only running slower.

A certified malware expert will come along and help you fix this and any other issues once the logs requested in Pondus’s reply are attached.

I have this problem also. have been following the instructions…

no…the instructions is to start your own topic in the virus and worms forum section
and in that topic you attach the logs

the logs needed are AdwCleaner / Malwarebytes / OTL / aswMBR
