I’ve scanned it with Avast a couple of times, the location of the virus is C:\WINDOWS\system32\user32.DLL and i can’t delete it. How do I delete this virus ??
Deletion is never a good option you have none left and this is a system file that is in use and why avast won’t touch it. it could have serious ramifications.
Try this tool DrWeb CureIt! - See [url]http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/[/url - Download ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/launch.exe (Free) this appears to be effective in the cleaning of the infected file.
Ok… I just performed the eset online scan and it said that i had 2 threats…
the once i’ve found through avast is C:\WINDOWS\system32\nnnnNExy.dll and the one I wrote about earlier… I will try you’re program and see how it works… thank you.
No problem, glad I could help.
This one seems it might be a Vundo/Virtumonde infection, send the sample to avast see below.
Welcome to the forums.
Send the sample to virus@avast.com zipped and password protected with the password in email body, a link to this topic might help and undetected malware in the subject.
Or you can also add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest (if it isn’t already there) where it can do no harm and send it from there. A copy of the file/s will remain in the original location, so you will need to take further action and can remove/rename that.
Send it from the User Files section of the chest (select the file, right click, email to Alwil Software). It will be uploaded (not actually emailed) to avast when the next avast auto (or manual) update is done.
The DrWeb CureIt tool actually got the job done… Thanks alot. No more viruses on the computer. It repaired the files… Thanks alot man…
You’re welcome.
