Hi!
I have an avast! 4.8 Home Edition installed in my laptop (a Sony Vaio with Windows Vista). Yesterday (May 2, 2010) I ran a complete scan, and it detected 7 Win32:Tiny-AFE trojans, all installed on or after April 28, 2010, which I removed to the “quarentene” folder as recommended by the program. I subsequently ran the avast! scan again, and also Windows Live One Care Full Service Scan, and no malware was detected.
Now I have the following questions, which are worrying me quite a lot…:
- Why didn’t avast!'s permanent protection identify the trojans before they were dowloaded (as has happened in the past)?
- Are the scans I made enough to ensure that everything is ok now?
- Is it enough to let them in the quarentene, or should I delete them from there too?
- Do you know what this trojan does?
- Is it possible to know whether it was “active” during the time it remained undetected? I shopped online within this period, and I am very worried that my credit card info may have been copied – as well as any passwords and logins I may have used in these 5 days…!!!
I would be really very grateful if you could answer my questions as soon as possible, for I work with my laptop and am now totally insecure!
Many thanks,
Graci
