Win32:Trojan-gen {Other} Found. Help Needed!

Hey guys, So I just ran my virus scanner (I use Avast Home Edition fully updated). And it detected a Win32:Trojan-gen {Other} in the file PT-Install-v3.00.1.pgsql.exe. I’ve actually have had this file on my computer for a while now - about 2 months (its an install file for a program I have on my computer “Poker Tracker 3” if anyones familiar with it).

I run my virus scanner probably about once every 2-3 days and it only started detecting this today.

I just quarantined the file and ran a scan using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and my system came up clean with no infected files.

Here is my Hijackthis Log:

There is a chance this could be a false positive from Avast, but just want to make sure that there is no Trojan floating around on my computer infecting things. Any help is appreciated.

Upload the file to VirusTotal and post the results.

I just tried to upload it to Virus Total and Jotti, but the file is too large (approx 25mb)

Hey Frank, thanks for the reply. I believe that file comes from a program I use called HandGrabber. Anyways I have located the file and uploaded it to VirusTotal and it has come up as clean. Here are the results:

If you know what it is and it’s not detected as malware, then everything is fine.

Hey Frank, thanks for the reply.

Anyways, I ran a full scan with Spybot S & D and the KasperSky Online Virus Scanner, and my computer came up clean in both.

I also unquarantined the file (“PT-Install-v3.00.1.pgsql.exe$INSTDIR\PokerTracker.exe”) so that I could scan it specifically with the Kaspersky online scanner and it came up clean.

So I guess it was just a FP and I have nothing to worry about? I’m just gonna delete the install file just in case however.

Thanks once again sir.

there seem’s to be alot of trojan-gen going around the last few day’s all im thinking is false alarms :o i had a few i put in chest and did a avast boot scan.soo yea hope the trojan dont come back :o :o
