So i scanned my computer today for any malware or viruses. It detected 4 threats that were all “Win64:Adware-gen (adw)”. I tried deleting them but it kept giving me this error message: Error: The system cannot find the path specified (3)". I tried restarting my computer and scanning again but this time for some reason it detected no threats at all. I’m pretty new to this whole computer tech stuff and would like some insight by an expert. It worries me most as avast is telling me that the severity of the threat is high. What should i do?
Where was those files located ? … full file path
Logs to assist in cleaning malware https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
attach Malwarebytes and Farbar Recovery Scan Tool logs 3 logs total
Are you asking for the file names? I’m unclear on where to look. When i go to my scan report it shows the name of the files but is that what you’re asking for?
eksample: C:/windows/programfiles/…/…/
if you dont know, forget it, but you have to attach the logs from the guide i posted above…we cant help unless you attach those logs
Ok i’m just gonna give the names:
C:\Program Files (x86)\dealSter\itFZgWCKbtaTFb.x64.dll
And
C:\Program Files (x86)\tperfectocoupon\GNbl8mr1qXiebW.x64.dll
OK that is adware, please run the FRST scans
Should i just follow the steps in the “loga to assist in removing malware”?
Yep.
