Winavxxx Virus fix?

I have avast installed on a pc that is always kept up to date. Yet somehow it got infected with a virus called “winavxxx.exe” “printer.exe” and who knows what else. This virus locks everyone including the administrator from seeing or accessing the control panel and other critical system management features. I have tried every solution suggested on this site and others. Please! When will Avast be able to recognize and remove this very annoying virus? ??? :-\

Can you send the samples to virus@avast.com ?
You can zip and password the files… Inform a link to this thread and the password used.
You can send the files to Chest and, from there, resend to Alwil for analysis.
Thanks.

Meanwhile, maybe you should run on-line scanning:
BitDefender (free removal of the malware)

As this is malware rather than a virus (very grey area) try this

Download and then run SuperAntispyware

[*]On the first page select Check for Updates
[*]On completion select SCAN YOUR COMPUTER
[*]On the next page select COMPLETE SCAN and tick ALL your drives
[*]The next stage will take a while as your entire drive(s), memory and registry are scanned
[*]When it has completed click NEXT
[*]The next screen shows the problems found click OK
[*]On the next screen place a tick against all items and select NEXT
[*]Now to get the log Go to the PREFERENCES button on the right bottom
[*]Select the STATISTICS/LOG tab
[*]Highlight the scan just completed and click VIEW LOG
[*]This will open a notepad text file copy and paste this to your next reply

can you tell us how is this virus called by other AV products? send some samples of it to www.virustotal.com and post the results here

Part of the winantivirus/smitfraud family installs (generally ) the following additional files

winavxxx.exe
printer.exe
autorun.exe
system.exe

I believe Trend call it TROJ_SMALL.ZY

Sorry for the delay. I’m sending a copy of the files now…

Thanks for helping to improve avast.
