I need help getting rid of it. Annoying desktop pop-ups alerting me of “virus detections,” slowing my computer, and displaying on my windows security center that i “do not” have a virus program available (aside from downloading winbluesoft)… over time it just slows my computer down. I am running Avast 4.8 (trial), but am unable to get rid of this problem.
What can I do?

no dice. cleaned out a bunch of junk from my comp, but the problem remains.
would it matter that i had deleted the faulty software b4 i ever did any virus scans?

ended up nailing it with Combo Fix. nothing else seemed to work as more than a temp fix till the next reboot. appreciate the help!

It is highly recommended for you to turn off System Restore. Right click My Computer and select Properties. Click on System Restore tab and check the box next to Turn Off System Restore and press Enter. This threat also known as WiniBlueSoft. Turn on the system restore again after you have delete the threat and restart your PC.
