Hi there, can I safely download and install W10 on my laptop computer?
Any issues to take care of previous installed W8 programs?
I shall be looking forward to hearing from you, thanks in advance.
Kind regards,

If you have Windows Update KB3035583 you will be able to install Win10 on your machine for free
when it’s officially released. You have twelve months to decide if you want the free upgrade.
Final release for Win10 is scheduled for July 29,2015
Personally you could do what a lot of people are doing…reserve a copy for your own use.
See https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-upgrade?ocid=Reserve_r_Confirmation_mod1_upgrade
Do a little research before deciding https://www.google.com/search?q=win10+upgrade&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#newwindow=1&safe=off&q=should+i+upgrade+to+windows+10
Thanks for your reply.
I got W8.1 officially installed on myl laptop pc.
Can I without any securicity problems or whatsoever right now install W10?
Is the official version available to download? (no beta)
Thanks in advance for your help.

No one can guarantee there won’t be issues!
Windows 10 is not in Final Release yet and all OS configurations are different.
The only available versions for Win10 are for testing purposes.
I have Win10 Technical Preview installed in a virtual machine.
Like I pointed out above Win10 is scheduled to be a “final release” on July 29, 2015
Till then kick back, relax and do some research before taking the dive into Win10.
If you decide to install Win10 make sure you make a system image to an external HDD just in case you need to restore your machine.
In fact you should be making system backups on a weekly basis anyways. Don’t rely on “system restore”.
I posted this link above so you could do some research yourself http://www.google.com/search?q=win10+upgrade&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#newwindow=1&safe=off&q=should+i+upgrade+to+windows+10
Don’t be afraid to do some research on your own. And there is no big hurry to get Win10, you will have twelve (12) months to decide.
@schmidthouse @Para-Noid thanks for your replies.
I will wait for the final version of windows 10.
Kind regards, Herman
You’re welcome.
Best practice when a new OS is released is performing a clean installation.
A new OS will need newer/other drivers,
and that could leave a lot of old drivers on your system (and in the registry) as “leftovers”.
Whatever you decide to do (a clean installation or a update), always create a backup before starting.
You can create a image of the current drive, backup data, bookmarks, pictures and such or do both.
Windows 10 may still be in beta but I’ve done both a Clean Install and an Upgrade of Windows 8.1 to Windows 10
with out any problems.
