That is not a clean install. A clean install wipes everything. It sounds like you did a reset.
This may explain the missing threshold 2

Very strange since the Media Creation Tool allowed me to burn a USB containing both the 32 and 64 bit
version of Windows 10 build 10586. ??? I used that usb drive to do the install on the 32 bit Dell that would not
update. It is now up to date with the latest version. ??? ??? ???
I just gotta say in the years and years I’ve been using MS operating systems I can not recall such disorganization and unreliability.
So now a bunch have the Fall Win 10 update (myself included) and a bunch don’t have it. :![]()
The page for the Media Creation tool now says that it can not be used to upgrade to 1511. I guess, (actually I know for a fact) that others, besides me, could not get it to work. I guess I’ll throw away my burned disk of 1511 too since that probably has the same bugs that prevented the tool from working. They said they have not pulled the update from WU though but I bet that when the ones who haven’t received it yet finally do, they will get a patched up version. I still have not seen it btw.
Come to think of it, I do remember checking the version number of setup.exe in the tool created ESD folder and seeing that it said 10240. That was the first time I tried it a week ago. So, now, it looks like they have pulled the 1511 ISO from the tool completely since some people weren’t getting it anyway.
With all the reported problems with the update, I’m now kind of glad I haven’t gotten it yet.
Well, in any case a pretty comprehensive step-by-step scenario coverage by ghacks.net here: http://www.ghacks.net/2015/11/13/fix-new-windows-10-update-1511-not-showing-up/
Maybe something in there not tried/covered by you yet?

What problems, running smooth as silk on all systems I updated. ![]()
Hi bob3160,
Now Dell laptops on Windows 10 seems to have a self-signed edell.root certificate problem: http://www.windows10update.com/2015/11/do-dell-windows-10-pcs-come-with-spyware/
Dell will comment later to-day. Lenovo is no longer alone. ;D

Nice to see, but theres alot of improvement needed. Like on Exploits for example, Cloud can get better too.
Phishing protection isnt that great as well.

None of those things apply.

have you tried running disc as in place install? that reinstalls windows while saving all personal data and all programs already installed. you will have to redo most windows settings.
this worked to update for me.

Some (of your privabcy settings) may not have been retained when applying the November update.
Are it the settings for advertisement-ids that made upgrading to Windows 10 is free?

This was already addressed and fixed in a subsequent update by Microsoft. ![]()

Windows 10 November update was pulled for forgetting privacy settings; it’s now back
The updated Media Creation Tool has also been restored, re-enabling clean installs of version 1511.
Well, I am now on Threshold. It says version 1511, build 10586.14. The bad part is that I had to do a completely clean install and lost everything. What happened was that I read somewhere that all SATA controllers should be set to IDE in the BIOS. I changed mine and tried to upgrade from a disk. It failed again, and now the computer would not boot into Windows at all. Checking with the repair tools said I no longer had any installation of Windows. Booting from a disk and trying a reset wouldn’t even work. After trying everything to restore boot, I finally used the MiniTool Partition Wizard on a CD to delete all partitions on the drive thus wiping out everything. I then used a disk I had created from the 10586 disk ISO I had previously downloaded with the Media Creation Tool (before they pulled it). I booted from the disk and installed Windows 10 with no problems. I recovered all of my personal files from the AOMEI backup I had done on the second HDD but now I’m in the long process of installing all of my programs again. I have most of the regular stuff reinstalled. Now I have to do the games. I have to reinstall Steam, Origin, Uplay, and GOG Galaxy and redownload the games I want to continue playing. I was able to copy over World of Warcraft in it’s entirety from the backup file and it works fine. There may be a way to copy Steam and LOTRO over but I’ll have to check. I know I did it with one or both of those before.
Threshold is working very well but really doesn’t seem any better than 10240 was. It has already received a few updates.
The updates you received are related to the settings forgetfulness mention in a prior post since
your ISO was an early release of build 1511. ![]()
I was able to copy over my Steam games and Lotro. Now to check if I can do the same with GOG, Origin, and Uplay.
For Origin and GOG, I just installed the client and copied the games folders from the backup. They initially showed as needing to be downloaded but when I clicked on install, after a few minutes it found the copied game files, verified them, and said it was done. They play perfectly.
This clean install has turned out to be less of a hassle than I thought it would be. ;D
Average user and wanna get rid of crapware, MS may not help you, only if you are an enterprise user then it is another story:

Oh and remember the issues with DiagTrack, it has not gone away - it just got renamed as “Connected User Experiences and Telemetry”, read: https://tweakhound.com/2015/11/18/win10-diagnostics-tracking-service-gone/
