I have Avast Nitro (free) active on my computer. Windows 10 has just done their “BIG” anniversary update. It was huge…took a long time to download and install. Anyway it has activated the ‘Defender’ option. “They” recommend running both ‘Defender’ and ‘Third Party Virus’ Programs. Do I want to do that? Run Defender and Avast at the same time?

Turn off Defender Limited Periodic Scanning if you don’t want Defender to run periodically:
It’s off by default. If you want the periodic scans, you first need to turn it on.
