I guess it depends on if you consider it a ‘bug’ to have periodic scanning on by default. I personally like having periodic scanning on as an automatic second opinion, but I understand others might find it to be overkill.

It is quite considerable, a second opinion.
As I use Windows 10 I don’t have this problem. But if I were using Windows 11 I wouldn’t want this process to be active in the background.
A second opinion that I use here on my machine is Malwarebytes.
