Hej

Last day i tried to help my sister by making her pc faster so i started an Avast! scan and i ask me to update it but some thing went wrong and i just did a scan using the older version. today when i triede to start it the PC i went stok just after the Windows loading logo in black screen i tried restart and it did’t help, also triede in safemode but i frezze at “aswRvrt.sys” for a couple of secoonds and vent to bluescreen. i also triede to start i in last working condition but this did’t help either.

the pc
is an Asus whith Windows 7 64bit

Is there anything i could do to get it to start?

You may want to try using an ISO disk.
Did you by any chance create a system recovery disk.

Can you re-boot and get to the command prompt?

if you by “can you re-boot anf get to the command promt?” mean starting it in safemode whit commandpromt, then it get the same aswRvrt.sys message as in normal safemode and safemode whit network.

we dont have a recovery disk or ISO disk if that is the same as an installation disk for windows 7

UPDATA i played a little around and got the the sceen whits is attached
Startup Repair - tried
System restore - Tried to the one point show

is it this commandpromt you ask for?

This fixlist will now disable Avast. Did you download any windows updates at the same time ?

Hi Again

i tryed to run the old fixlist once again, and after that i tried a normal Windows repair, just as doing some thing in the meantime to you next step respond. but the windows repair said i have made i work and restartet and it worked so now i can use it again tryed restart it once again to se if it would start again, and no problem anymore it seem.

to anwser your question about windows update, then there might have been one i cant remember if it were that day or the other but i think there were and update before i coudent start it.

would you say i should uninstal avast tottaly and then reinstal it or is this not nessacery?

anyway a HUGE thanks realy nice support and proffesionel

No it is not essential to do anything with Avast, that was my last resort option

Glad you are back up and running

Curious, you said you ran “old” fixlist…you mean you re-ran the first (reply #7) one Essexboy posted above again ?..then did Windows Repair and it then booted ? In other words…you did not run second fixlist (Reply #9) he posted at all ?
Just trying to understand for future people with possible same issue.

Just as bonus. i had tryed restart it as an earlier point but fail. Also tried a Windows repair whitout any ting happend before making a post in this forum.
