Windows 7 Action Center Reports “Turn on Avast! Antivirus (Important)” but when I check the status of Avast! Free Antivirus (7.0.1426) it reports that my system is secure. However, it does state that I am not connected to any Avast! account. Do I need to connect to an account (whatever that is) and what is the reason for the Action Center warning?

Microsoft released a fix for it: MS release a fix for it (http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_security_diagnostic/).

Thanks for the prompt reply. I tried all the ‘fixes’ except the last one but they did not work. The last one did not work as the file was reported as locked. I was unable to unlock the file because I have not idea which file to unlock.
