Problem with Every youtube video and videos on local news sites as well, goto play, turns out all green–(works fine in Megatube app) Works fine with Avast removed and just using Windows Defender built into 8.1, I guess soon if this isn’t solved for good, with IE 11, i’ll just have to take a drop in protection, and have a nice working PC with Windows Defender built into 8.1, and MSE on XP laptop
Been with this program for years though, is sad though thinking of maybe giving it up, but I don’t really get onto PC every day to trouble shoot issues, apply work arounds and such
Flash is updated, already checked that
Internet explorer 11 is only browser will use
Fully updated 8.1 install
Happens always, green screen soon as a video is suppose to be playing
(works fine with Windows Defender in 8.1)
Uninstalled Video drivers, used Guru3d.com Display Driver uninstaller for clean install of AMD Drivers in safe mode, restarted into Admin account, install whql drivers 13.9 with run as Adminstartor, no errors, restarted, opened youtube, and been working fine since 9a.m. No Green Screens since or black screens–video playback so far perfect on youtube, local news sites–so it seems like it’s solved, and yay I didn’t have to remove Avast to solve this
ok Will give that a try, and hopefully works well, Enhanced protection mode off, been off since reinstall of Avast 9.0.2008 cleanly, uninstalled, reinstalled Flash for other browsers, main flash plugin (activex) built in. Think so far tried about everything else disabling the AOS add on, but giving it a shot now
So far with AOS disabled and IE closed and reopened, still green, gonna look into other solutions in a moment, perhaps checking task manger and make sure IE 11 all closed and reopening, (trying to stay with Avast as long as I can) but frustrating
Ok maybe got it solved now, won’t say for sure yet, but so far after unchecking in Trouble shooting in Avast
Use Google Chrome as Default browser and restarting–so far has allowed 2 videos to load perfectly.
(Also reset IE 11 to default settings prior to system restart)
That first one seem somewhat weird, as if correct then I would expect to see some interaction like this with other browsers. I use firefox 25.0.1 as my default and don’t experience this, mind you some considerable time ago I unchecked that option as I don’t have chrome installed.
The resetting IE to defaults may well have had a greater impact.
But hopefully IE1 will be able to access youtube without the hassle.
So far Access going well since I took care of that–mind you I reset IE 11 to default before checking that option in Avast Antivirus. So far youtube and other videos have worked without a problem since–been testing a lot to make sure solved before I marked it as Solved
Back to greenish, but I guess something with internet now, not sure what at this point–but I don’t think Avast related now, worked for a long time without issues
Something that I remember being mentioned some time ago relating to youtube was the resolution that you view it at. Some have it set to the highest quality.
