Windows 8.1 error 0xc000000f during avast install after CryptoPrevent installed

During installation of avast! Endpoint Protection Suite Plus on a Windows 8.1 system, the installation errored, and when we rebooted we got the error 0xc000000f.

We are using EPSP on Windows 8.1 in our office flawlessly. The error 0xc000000f is associated with a corrupted boot sequence. After further investigation, we found that the user had applied CryptoPrevent, that prevented the complete installation of avast!.

“Unfortunately our current version isn’t compatible with Win 8.1. Avast developers are working on this issue and a new version will be available soon, but we don’t know exactly when.”

I know to never use a Windows operating system before a service pack. Windows 8 / 8.1 is NOT ready yet. I get warnings everyday from software companies stating their Windows 8 / 8.1 compatibility warnings!

IF you are using Windows 8.0 and are having good success, I highly recommend that you STAY at Windows 8.0 for the time being. The Windows 8.1 is significantly worse than Windows 8.0!
