Windows Defender picks OpenCandy as adware?

So I was taken by a suprise here, but by doing a bit research, I found out that OpenCandy gets installed along with several other programs, such as Audacity and so on.

So first thing I did was scan with Avast/Malwarebytes and none found any results.

It appears that only my Windows Defender picks it up.

What action should I take? Should I delete the folder, try to get rid of it through Windows Defender or just ignore it?

What action should I take?
what does it detect as opencandy? do you want it or not?...then take the action you want....

It detects it as low threat - Adware:Win32/OpenCandy

yes that is the detection name…but what file does it give that name to? what item is detected? do you want that item or not

It was connected to Nitro PDF Reader, which I have no use of whatsoever, so I uninstalled it and let the Windows Defender delete this OpenCandy as well.

As long as it doesnt bug me with more detections, and as long as Avast/Malwayrebytes doesnt detect it either, then I say this one is done and gone hopefully

Read here what info is given and discussed in the following thread on OpenCandy additional install: http://forums.comodo.com/comodo-internet-security-cis/microsoftmcafee-detects-frostwire-installer-as-opencandyask-tool-bar-adaware-t69486.0.html;msg493477
I.m.o. it is additional like e.g. additional Askbar installs etc., not malicious but from the standpoint of the user to be considered unwanted or crappy even, but the site scanner here gives the all green: http://siteinspector.comodo.com/taskreport/?uid=2587

Hi. My name is Adrian, and I’m one of the founders at OpenCandy and was involved with the design of the OpenCandy software, system, and policies.

Microsoft’s security products, including Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender, recommend that you take the action of “allow” if you trust the software developer behind the software. You can dismiss the alert and continue to use the great software you downloaded by performing the following steps:

  1. Select the “Allow” option in the “Action” drop-down menu
  2. Click the “Apply actions” button

You will not see the alert again, you can continue to freely use the software you downloaded, and your computer remains safe and secure.
