If I am using Avast (which I am) do I also need to be using Windows Defender or is it just being redundant? Thanks
SORRY, DIDN’T SEE THE OTHER POST THAT WAS JUST MADE ABOUT THIS SUBJECT.

there are quite a few topics related to this actually… my personal feeling is that it probably wont hurt anything to have both running at the same time, but i would be floored if Windows Defender could detect something that Avast cannot.
CChamp, I feel the same. You can let it there. It won’t harm. But it does not help that much.
Is Avast a Malware checker also or just an Antivirus? If it is a Malware checker then I would think it is redundant to have Windows Defender going. Am I wrong?
You’re right. avast is a malware checker.
But you can’t say 100% it will be redundant. Any detection software is not 100%.
Edited: miss a word ;D
I think Tech wants to say any detection software is not 100%…
Avast check for spyware also
