Windows Genuine Installation pop up, please read..

I have used FREE AVAST for long time and love it and never have had one issue. Being the swell guy that I am, I decided out of the blue to support the company and Bought a license. After registering, restarting, I get a Windows Genuine Installation issue. I go to windows to verify and they tell me to buy windows or do a clean install. No way would I do that. Windows is valid.

I have scanned my system with MalWareBytes, ADW Cleaner, CC Cleaner, AVAST and all is swell. Restarted, have done Windows update and all is up to date.

I click start, computer, right click computer, properties and scroll down and Windows is activated.

I opened a ticket up a couple days ago.

This seems DIRECTLY related to AVAST and nothing to do with my system.

If this a glitch in the AVAST software?? Could the licensed software that you purchase be infected???

Thanks in advance.

The pop up comes up in random times and intervals. Not often but today about 4 times. I just click cancel and go about my day.

…also, if the response to me is that I have malware then I’m not buying it…and if it is indeed Malware then it came FROM AVAST when buying their product.

What os/sp?
Have you tried a repair of avast?
Have you performed a clean installation of avast?
Have you re-registered windows?
Any other security (related) software installed (or previously)?

And yes, it is your system.
If it wasn’t, everyone would have that problem.

And yes, it still can be malware.

Follow the instructions and lets see if we can find anything that shouldn’t be there.

One link to read…I assumed you’ve check via MS that your license is valid ?

Botched Update Now Causing False “Windows Not Genuine” Warning

Windows 7: Windows suddenly not genuine (KB3004394 ??)

http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/355167-windows-suddenly-not-genuine-kb3004394.html

Pretty sure I figured it out (ok, possibly??)… Somehow when installing the Purchased Version of AVAST it shut down some services causing them to never re-start? Not sure but these services were stopped.

Run services.msc and check if Software Protection is set to Automatic (Delayed Start).
Start the service as it was stopped.
also check SPP Notification Service, set it to Automatic (Delayed Start).
Start the service.

Go and try to validate Windows again through Microsoft website. It now is validated.

NOT SAYING this will not happen again so in addition to the above I will take the advise of the three posters (THANK YOU VERY MUCH, ALL GREAT INFORMATION) and will go through what they say as double protection.
