Help about a week ago i had a windows update and when it finished updating a window came up and it said : The Windows 7 Ultimate product key you typed is invalid for activation
-Buy a new product key online
-Type a different product key
-Contact Hewlett-Packrad to help resolve this problem
Please help i had this computer for more then a year i don’t think it is a fake key

Try the following:
Click on The Start button.
In the Search box, type
SLUI 3
Hit the Enter Key and follow the instructions.
The correct key should be on a sticker on the system.
Click the Start button , right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
Scroll down to the bottom of the window that appears, and then, under Windows activation, click Change product key. If you’re prompted for permission to continue the process, click Continue.
Follow the instructions to change your product key and activate your copy of Windows 7.
um i don’t think anybody formatted the computer for me and the product key on the side of mi computer is for windows vista
So, you are trying to use Windows 7 with a illegal key.
Either buy a license for Windows 7 and use it or reverse the system back to factory default with Windows Vista.
Thats not always true… my sticker on my computer is a vista key but I upgraded mine to W7 pro so I wouldnt assume anything just yet.
Did you install Windows 7 on your machine or did someone else?
Maybe not. I’ve seen a computer with genuine Windows 7 do the same thing. Some sort of system file corruption.
