What have you scanned with so far. Have you tried a 'boot time scan ’ with Avast ?Try the following programs
Hijackthis.install, open and choose 'scan and save a log file '. Copy/paste the notepad log results that will open. You may need to split the log into more than one post http://filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
MBAM, Install, UPDATE, and run a quick scan, then post the reults of any findings http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
SAS Same as MBAM instructions http://filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/
What kind of pop ups are they , adverts, warnings ?
Hi :
MSN/Windows Live Messenger has the reputation of being the 2nd worse,
security-wise, when it comes to Instant Messengers ( only AOL IM seems to
be worse ) . Would look into using an Instant Messenger “Client”, such as
“Pidgin” from www.pidgin.im/ or “Trillian” from www.ceruleanstudios.com .
so does this mean i can uninstall windows live? like i said im ok with pc’s…but as for playing around with software like hijackthis and stuff…im a -10…but if give me play by play…i should be ok…
You can uninstall anything you want, it’s your PC right? ;D
Just for your info, they just released a new version of Live Messenger a few days ago (at least my computers starting telling me a new version was available a few days ago) and it’s possible that the newer version has less security vulnerabilities. I like it better than the older version as well.
You haven’t replied to micky77’s post. Have you installed and run hijackthis and malwarebytes yet?
Did they find anything?
You have to change your password. You clicked on a bad link so your password was leaked. There isnt any virus on your pc, so dont worry about that. Just change your password and double check with your friends before you click on the links they’ve sent you.
