windows mail not working after download of new avast

windows mail now gives me a error of could not be started your computer may be out of memory or disk is full(0x80070002)

next pop up window says windows mail could not start because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized

what has avast done to my computer?

I removed avast and it still will not work

What windows version/service pack?
What do you mean by Windows mail? Live Mail?
Have you tried Microsoft Fix It?
This error is normally related to a bug in a Windows update.

I tried the download from that link and it says its not for my computer
but its suppose to be for vista

I tried tried to find the windows email folder and I can not find it

hard disk\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\

I got to hard disk\Users then I have the choice of my name or public neither of which has the AppData folder
so Im stuck at that point

Without that information, help isn’t possible.
The link supplied by j. santiago applies to Windows Vista if that’s not your OS, it doesn’t pertain to you.

What windows version/service pack? vista home basic microsoft windows version 6 (build 6002:sp2)
What do you mean by Windows mail? Live Mail? windows mail (tried downloading live mail and it does not seam to download) or if it is I can not find it in programs
Have you tried Microsoft Fix It? (yes)
This error is normally related to a bug in a Windows update. There was no windows update I do them so I know when a new one installs

So you’re running Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2)
The mail question which relates to your problem still hasn’t been answered.
Outlook ??? Outlook Express ??? Hotmail, Gmail or something else ???

it simply says windows mail. (so how does one know if its considered windows live mail) would it say live mail?

but after this started I did download windows live essentials (which is suppose to have live mail) and it did not fix or replace the email which still does not work

The program you say is only called Windows Mail.

Windows Mail installs as part of your Windows Vista operating system as a replacement for Outlook Express.
Are you getting any error messages ???

would that apply to vista and windows mail? darn cant find the cds, but this computer is supose to have a D drive as back up I wonder if I could find it there some how

If you are running Vista or later, You can NOT use Outlook Express.
You need to use Windows Live Mail which you can get from:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials-other-programs
Simply uncheck any items that you do not want.
