The offline installer for Windows (found here https://www.avast.com/installation-files) is 64bit and won’t run on my Windows XP machine.
Is there an offline installer that can be downloaded for Win32 ?
Support for XP ended some considerable time ago, the last version of Avast which supported XP was version 18.8. The Avast link you gave would only serve the latest avast version/s.
Avast doesn’t hold old versions for download, so you would have to find version 18.8 from a file download site, such as filepuma.com.
That said some XP users (myself included) experienced issues with 18.8 and had to revert to 18.5.
Now, the next big question is, does Avast still support that version for virus definition update (it might) and if so for how long. I haven’t used XP for some considerable time and I just don’t know that.
See if this helps,

Whilst it isn’t something I need but the OP may.
However if as others experienced, they may need to go back to 18.5 and that is on filepuma.com.

If you search for avast free antivirus on the site, click on the Text rather than the Download Now button, it will show other versions, 18.5 is in page 2 of the Old versions (View More).
Thanks David,
I’ve added that file to the others in that shared folder.

You’re welcome.
Good to be able to access old versions.

Yes they can, but are limited to the 18.8 version and many had issues with that and the problem was never (identified or) fixed.
