Hi, my avast just flagged an application called windowsupdatebox.exe as trying to modify/change a file, and asked me to block it or allow it to continue. From what little I can find windowsupdatebox.exe seems to be a windows process but I am not 100% sure of that. A full virus scan has returned the all clear. I’m on a windows 10 pc and my Avast is all up to date. Any confirmation as to what this might be would be great
thanks
Test the file at VT (https://www.virustotal.com) and post the link to the result here.

hopefully thats what you need.
You can report a suspected FP (File/Website) here: https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php
So you think it is a false positive then even with the Trojan[Backdoor]/Win64.AGeneric flag in the Antiy-AVL section?
The guys from the viruslab have the final word…
Yeah makes sense, I have sent it in to avast, thanks for your help.
You’re welcome.
Hi,
The file should not be blocked anymore.
Best Regards,
Lukáš
