winpatrol

anybody having trouble with winpatrol at this moment…not in task bar…won’t load after restart

No and I have WinPatrol Plus on both of my systems.

gonna uninstall and try again
can’t live without winpatrol plus and scotty

feeding scotty some dog biscuits…winpatrol plus is back
must of been a glitch or something???

tray icon is occasionally missing but winpatrol process is running in my pc. weird. hahahaha

I have him run away from home sometimes, everything still works but the icon in taskbar disappears but a reboot always bring him back, i think it’s a 64 bit issue, it,s alway done it on this system and my other 64 bit but never on my 32 bit.
Bill’s supposed to be working on a native 64 bit version so hopefully that’ll fix it and scotty wont want to run away any more :).

That remembered me something. Why doesn’t Revo free show WinPatrol since it is a 32-bit app?

No idea, dont use revo as i found it quite useless, even ccleaner finds bits after uninstalling with revo.

drhayden1,

This weekend I returned to AIS. After installing AIS and restarting, Scotty wouldn’t show in the system tray.

Installed WinPatrol on top of it’s self, everything was ok.

Make sure you feed scotty some chilli dog biscuits that will give him a huge wake-up call ;D
and if it was a glitch I guess scotty been chasing the wrong pussy cat ;D

Beside I have no major problem with scotty on my XP, cause he keeping Sylvester out of trouble from chasing me and scotty a very nice doggy ;D

A couple of reboots would have brought him back as this is when it mostly happens after installs and uninstalls.

Glad to see that you have gotten rid of that resource sucking slug called MSE ;D

Unless he didn’t make a wish of that resource sucking slug called MSE-Cake ;D

;D ;D ;D

WinPatrol Plus working great here!

I didn’t know MSE was a ‘memory sucking slug’ lol.

I just got Winpatrol myself, saw it recommended in a PCWorld newsletter.

I didn't know MSE was a 'memory sucking slug' lol.

MSE is no ‘memory sucking slug’.

MSE is an excellent anti-virus.

It’s every bit as good as avast!

Unfortunately some avast! fanboys at times turn into trolls and attack good programs. ::slight_smile:

rdmaloyjr you’ve been dancing for to long and you still can’t lay an egg while standing up at the same time, before you even noticed the MSE resource sucking slug before sticking your bum down half way from the ground ;D

I don’t mean to promote another a/v on avast!'s forum, but trolls need to be put in their place.

I don’t like to call anyone a troll, but they need to be woke up to what they are becoming.

rdmaloyjr its physically impossible to say that MSE is as good as avast when with all the tests out there prove its detection capabilities fall short of avast, updates only once a day if you get them with slow scanning speed and to run both av’s on seperate systems side by side it’s clearly easy to see which one is sucking up more resources, you need to wake up and smell the roses.
MSE would be my second choice for a free av but that exactly what it is ( second choice ).

craigb,

First, I have no desire to argue with you or anyone else.

My nephew used to use avast!, but got infected.

Avast! removed the infection with a boot-time scan,

but couldn’t clean up from the infection leaving

him in a in an endless cycle of reboots.

He switched to MSE, MSE cleaned up his system.

He hasn’t been infected since.

He likes social networking sites, always on them.

I’m sure you are aware of the dangers on those sites.

BTW, he still goes to the site where he was infected, but doesn’t get infected now.

Tests can be and are manipulated to get the results they want.

I prefer real-world experiences.
