With my core shields enabled all of my browsers take forever to load

I have used this software for many years without any issues but just recently I noticed all of my browsers (including the avast one) are slower to load than a dial up connection! I have 16gb of ddr4 memory in a Dell Vostro PC (about 1.5 years old). Memory is usually around 50% usage with only a few tabs open and no other apps running in the background. After several frustrating days and countless searches, I tried switching all of the core shields off and BANG…all of my browsers were lightning fast again. I believe I have the latest version (25.12.10659g (build 25.12.10659.961)

I tried every suggestion to speed up by adjusting the core shield settings but nothing short of turning them off altogether works. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

Generally I don’t close my browser (default Firefox) mainly as I have several minimised tabs, that I want available. Even then if I close the browser and open it again it doesn’t seem to take that long to load the minimised (mostly what I have) or open Tabs.

My system (old laptop) specs are below my post and whilst it takes a little time to open, I wouldn’t call it slow or excessive.

Currently total memory usage is 79% for absolutely everything and most of that is Firefox with at 19 processes.
