This one was the featured item in tonight’s Trend weekly newletter. It’s one of the ones that includes a zip attachment that, among other things, blocks access to quite a few of the better-known a-v websites (by over-writing the Hosts file).
I was somewhat amused that either its “authors” (of the virus, that is) never heard of avast, or else don’t consider it worth worrying about. I’ve heard that’s true of quite a few of worms and viruses that specifically target a-v software and/or sites, avast slips right past them.
