would printing out a referral link to avast free (7 friends referred, free 1 year avast internet security licence) and using It at work be against the Avast referral program TOS? I work in a local shop fixes computers for people and we install avast free on most of the computers since it’s the best.

great question! The TOS of Recommendations[1] says nothing about “installing it in your shop”, in other words it’s not forbidden 
You can earn some IS licenses for free for you and your family. Of course, the regular EULA[2] for IS applies (e.g. you cannot resell the license).
