WZCSLDR2.exe and win32:malware-gen questions, should I restore it??

Hello, I notice I have that WZCSLDR2.exe in the Virus chest.

Is WZCSLDR2.exe a virus/spyware? How can I know if it’s a virus/spyware or not?

What is a win32:malware-gen? What it does??

EDIT: It’s strange, when I decide to scan the file, it’s saying no virus and the win32:malware-gen is gone. O_o

Should I restore it???

Scan it by right clicking within the chest and if it says that its not a virus or malware or spyware then it is safe to restore…
Previously it might be false positive
But the name of the file is confusing me. :slight_smile:

Restore it and upload it to http://www.virustotal.com and see for yourself

Ah, on virustotal, they say it’s a false positive.

Result: 0 /43 (0.0%)

Btw, the file is still listed on the Virus Chest. Is it ok if I delete it?

(Ah, and the file is related to the wireless D-Link hardware)

If avast doesn’t detect anymore and you have restored the file then yes you can delet the entry from the virus chest :slight_smile:
