Can I or should I utilize my Xfinity Constant Guard along with my Free avast antivirus? Thanks in advance.
Remove Xfinity if you want to use avast.
It contains Norton IS.
Actually Norton is separate from Xfinity Eddy, on their website it states that after installing Xfinity you should then download Norton http://constantguard.comcast.net/
“Once you have Constant Guard up and running, download Norton Security Suite for top-rated protection against viruses and other online threats.”
http://constantguard.comcast.net/
Includes Norton™ Security Suite
It includes a link to download Norton, it still has to be downloaded and installed.
When they say included they mean that with the purchase of Xfinity you also get Norton for free included but it still has to be downloaded and installed.
I’ve had Xfinity for years but did not install Constant Guard because it does include Norton.
Can you read ::), it is included with the purchase but still requires to be downloaded and installed, it is written in plain text on the website as well as the link to install Norton highlighted in the UI
Yes, I can read. I’ve also talked to Xfinity Customer Support, asked about Constant Guard and was told it included Norton Anti-Virus.
I thought you said you’d had it for years, you are so full of it you’re about to burst :
Maybe this link will show some more http://constantguard.comcast.net/home/index.html Norton is given as a bonus for purchasing Xfinity.
Also look at the pic and read it for yourself Once you have Constant Guard up and running, download Norton Security Suite for top-rated protection against viruses and other online threats
I have had Xfinity Internet, TV and Phone for years.
Different product altogether, read my previous post
and your internet is comcast ???
Comcast and Xfinity are the same ISP. When I have a problem with any of my services and a tech comes here to fix it the van the tech drives has Xfinity written on it.
It doesn’t really matter, look at the info I have posted and read for yourself, Norton and Xfinity are two separate products - you are given Norton as a bonus for purchasing Xfinity - once Xfinity is installed you are then given the option to download and install Norton.
Guess the only way to find out is to install Constant Guard.
Can you not read or what, look at the pic and read for yourself, you don’t have to install Norton as it is separate.

i recomend you uninstall avast and use Comcast full service…Norton / Xfinity…then this nice man will come home to you evry time you have a problem and fix it for you
Have a nice day.
I’ve been a Comcast (Xfinity) customer for 25+ years.
I don’t use their “Constant Guard” which doesn’t change the fact that
Constant Guard does not include Norton 360. It is available from Comcast
free of charge to all those of us for whom Comcast is our ISP.
Originally they offered us a free copy of McAfee but that didn’t last long and they changed over to Norton 360.
Thanks but no thanks, avast! Free is good enough for me…

I don’t use their “Constant Guard” either nor would I want Norton installed. I don’t know whether he was serious or not but Pondus recommended I uninstall Avast and install Norton.
Okay guys lets not get to worked up, after all we are not at work now, well that I know of LOL. I didn’t even know that there was two different software I was asking about here, Constant Guard and Norton. Can anyone tell me which one is better avast or Norton. Then the whole Constant Guard thing what the heck is that? or I should say why would I need it LOL. I already have Google Chrome for my passwords and it seems that it will all just be more complication for me. I was told once before that I should NOT use avast with MSE but I was sure I read somewhere that I could run the two together. I did this for a while and had no issues and no virus’s.
It just would seem to me that the Norton is a bigger tool for lack of better term. Perhaps this is because one has lot’s of advertising and cost’s a lot of money I don’t know. The other issue is that I am kinda paying for it, so are they just taking advantage of human nature to get me into some kind of marketing ploy? I like avast, it’s simple and pretty effective, and I would surely come back for my free or payed version if I were to choose C.G. or Norton now. Thanks for the feedback guys and I would love to hear more on the subject as Comcast is huge and others must wonder the same about this option.
