You deleted years worth of passwords!

I log in today and it says my password program is being upgraded to Avast passwords. It says it will create a backup to move over to the new program. Well that dosnt seem to have happened and it overwrote the program I had in chrome with avast so I cant even go back at all! This right here makes me remember why I got rid of your antivirus junk a long time ago.

Now that the rant it over, is there a way to find out where your idiotic program may have possibly backed up my passwords? Ive tried downloads and documents but nothing.

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Secondly I don’t use the Avast Password so I’m unfamiliar with it.

Are you able to open your regular browser and export the password settings save there.

EDIT - I can do that from my default browser Firefox, perhaps this is possible from another browser prior to using ASB.

I don’t know if this related issue might help.

Nope. Apparently avast took over the extension I was using, upgraded it to Avast and it said it was backing it up so it could be imported but I can not find any file for a backup at all anywhere. If it was doing that you would think they would have automated that part.

There are 2 addons that contains “Password” on their name: Avast Passwords and Avast Password Manager. Former one is now EOS (End of Service) and migration path into latter one (Avast Password Manager) is available.
Please don’t confuse these 2 things and explain what you had before, what you have now, and what is happening on your browser.
