Sorry I’m unable to replicate it on my settings. What if you add an exception in Avast Settings > General > Exceptions for YouTube https[://www.]youtube[.]com[/*] removing the square brackets I inserted to stop the link being active in the forum.

I’m still able to connect and depending on the number of tabs you have open is going to have an impact, but I’m able to use YouTube, without too much drama. Last night there was a YouTube outage for a while. I have a tired old laptop that is showing its age, so I also use Firefox’s Unload Tabs function which helps my Low RAM and old CPU a lot.
