I have the lastest premium version of Avast Mobile Security, and after Lollipop update, App locking is not working, on 3rd party apps, however I sill have to enter my pin to get into Avast Mobile Security, however my apps that are “locked” I am not prompted to enter the PIN.
I have rebooted the phone, have cleared my cache, it still will not work.
I know there where a few problems between avast and Lollipop.
As far as I know they all have been solved in the latest version of avast.
Check if you have the latest version.
If you do, I suggest to remove avast completely and perform a new installation.
I also have noticed that apps are no longer locking. Using 4.0.7891 and rooted. Wiped data y.day and re-tried still not locking apps. Will try uninstall and reinstall today.
Ditto here. No App Locking. Using the free version. This is a relatively new development; I’d say in the last several weeks. Uninstalled and re-installed Avast Mobile free version . . . no joy. Running Cyanogenmod v12.1 (current nightly of Lollipop) on Galaxy S4.
Seems to be a 5.1.1 issue, found similar post on the web with people testing different app lock programs.
The solution is to enable a feature which isn’t added to avast yet.
In settings → Security → “Apps with usage access” and then enable the app lock program. Avast is not listed there yet.
Guess we have to wait for an update from avast.
Good find, yes seems that there is no manual method to add avast to that list.
That may indeed fix the issue.
Hopefully Avast will investigate this, and roll out an update.
