Avast 17.3.2290 + 2291

Good news, everyone!

New Avast Antivirus March version is here (17.3.2290). This version doesn’t introduce any new features, rather fixes some of the most critical issues that appeared on the previous version.

What’s fixed:

  • Web Shield: Fixed SSL scanning issue on some sites - sites now load correctly
  • Issues with login to roaming profile after update
  • Passwords: Fixed issues with self-authorization and import from Easy Pass
  • Issue with installation on Braswell CPUs
  • Network problems after update on Vista
  • Issue with playing HTML5 videos in SafeZone browser
  • Improved compatibility with Windows 10 Creators Update

Bug in stable version.https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=199712.msg1381562#msg1381562

Smart scan repeating after click on notifications again not fixed!

Did you try a clean install? remove old with avast tool, reboot and install new

Yes i did and i tested this on two PC’s. Can anyone confirm this bug too?

Finally, lets try it 8) ;D

Thank you and time will tell

Thanks for the update

Bug confirmed, just tested it.

Well, Avast people … you made me laugh today!!!

Avast needs to restart your computer - Remind me … the next century!!!

I have to admit … this was funny!!!

Bug you’ve reported not present as virus chest appears as expected.

But, bug reported by TheOwner is still present. Confirmed. :frowning:

Upgrade over-the-top as version number is one newer than previous. Much smoother operation.

Updated from 17.2.2288 UI on my XP system.

All appeared OK, but I ran a Smart Scan and there are issues yet unresolved from some time ago.

  1. There is still no Pause button in the scan.
  2. On completion of the Smart Scan on clicking the Done button, the Notification ‘Bell’ icon shows 1 item.
Clicking on that shows the last scan entry if you click on the Details button, it fires off the Smart Scan again another issue still outstanding.
  3. As happened before you end up getting multiple entries of the scan and doesn’t clear down the notification ‘Bell’ count.

Also see https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=199726.0.

The following issue still remains in the new 17.3.2290:

After Smart Scan is completed and I click on Details, it starts the Smart Scan again.
Tried Repair, but get same thing.

Can confirm this >:( and CleanUp got stuck at step1 >:(

Does anyone know if this version still has the problem where the UI shows a different time / date for a scheduled scan than what’s actually selected in the settings?

Updated this am. and Smart Scan works fine for me.

this isuue still exist

A good stable release.

There’s still a few issues left but nothing major now.

I’m glad the scan scheduling has been fixed although you forgot to mention it in the Changelog.

Updated from Beta#2 via offline version download without any prob. After that, I started a HNS scan.
There has nothing changed and I’m waiting for a fix since Dec! Please see

Thanks for the update but i have noticed a bug, soon as i turn my pc on from a cold boot i.e… Plugging in the plug into a plug socket and then turning my pc on, soon as i get into my desktop if i right click on any file and then choose scan with avast nothing appears infact the arrow cursor just spins and sometimes crashes explorer.exe if I retry to right click scan with avast again. It’s like if i wait for for a few minutes avast works fine right click with avast runs as it should. Don’t know why it’s doing this. Tried this on 3 pcs issue is there on all machines

Also the other bug others have mentioned regarding quick scan is present on all three of my pcs too
