Sorry, Red.
No skins available for V6
No, there have been no skins in avast since avast5 and that hasn’t changed in avast6 and is not likely to do so.
~~hmm…If there are skins for Avast 5, is it possible to have a skin like the one I posted in the original topic?
Thanks Again ^^
Hi Red
By design de GUI of Avast! 6, but also Avast! 5, simply is/was not skinnable.
Greetz, Red.
My comment about no skins since avast5, poorly worded, included avast5 not having skins. avast 4.8 was the last skinned GUI.
~~Hmm. I see. Haha, is it possible to do something with resource hacker?
Or something else that can let me change the graphic interface to that? XD
Thanks Again ^^
No, the avastUI is fixed as such and reflects the avast corporate colour scheme in the avast web site, blog and forums, etc.
The self-defence module is also there to prevent malware from modifying/stopping avast.
I have been using avast for over seven years and the avast5 & avast6 GUI is much better, than avast 4.x even with skins it wasn’t very easy to navigate and consequently users didn’t find it that friendly. Not to mention in reviews the most commonly talked about thing was the quirky media player interface, not how good the features, protection, etc. were.
I like the overall scheme of avast, but it would be cool if transparency was enabled so that it goes more along with WIndows 7
I like that.
Igor said that color scheme will be difficult to change.
Maybe transparency is the last resource we can ask for…
I think avast doesn’t need skins cause it would cause a bloat to the anti-virus and an anti-virus doesn’t need to be bloated. The current UI is simple Simple is better.
+1
Color scheme (theme) and transparency aren’t skins.
Wouldnt be much of a bloat to the anti-virus.
The current ( 5/6 avast ) UI is not simple ( as compared to avast 4 ) . To me, the new interface reminds me of all those viruses that pretend to be an antivirus, and look exactly like how the new avast 5/6 UI looks like.
…It just looks like bloatware now…
( my opinion ) hehe ^^
I already asked for that and had a discussion about that (half agreed and half not [about changing look of avast])… May be ( not sure) that avast 7 will come with same orange scheme but a new look …
The skin is perfect. No need for tweaking and stuff like that.
Normally you don’t even see the GUI during everyday PC-usage…
Skinning is just kids-play for programs like this.
I think I shall give up : ^^ …Avast decided to change its program to something else, and I cannot do anything about that except for keep using Avast 4 like I have been for many years… XD
I just miss the avast 4 UI , how it looked and everything ^^
…haha, when I first saw avast 5, I wondered if some big company bought avast and turned it into **** or something like that =P
…I just don’t like it…reminds me of XP Home Security malware…

…why yes…I am after all, just some random teenager whos opinion does not matter ;D
I Am Hoping You Guys A Good Day, Aufwiedersehen ^^
The skin has zero to do with the program functionality/protection, that is aesthetics, so essentially avast hasn’t changed its program to something else. Other than to improve the protection afforded by avast 5&6, with additional areas of protection not in avast 4.8.
So you can carry on using 4.8 until the life support is switched off, which isn’t that far off.
I think it would be silly to like open the avast UI and look at everything and think “I’m going to look at this UI all day looong” ;D like who would do that

I will ! Thankyou ;D
…it’s kind of like windows yes? Still windows, but changes its looks to look like something completely new/different, when it isn’t.

It isn’t that at all…it’s more like ‘oh dear god! I can’t look at the horrid-nous !’ That is why I use 4.8 , it doesn’t give me that kind of reaction =)
Can a mod just close this topic please…? =)
I Am Hoping You All A Good Day =PP
