you have two antivirus installd, uninstall avira, because they will fight to take off a virus and when that happen it will do more harm than good.
but i am scanning now, is it ok if i delete avira after the scan?
your using avira to scan? while avast is installed? correct,
stop the avira scan, uninstall then reboot and scan with avast once avast 5.0 comes out i think it will be better than avira.
Basically, the problem is that you should NEVER have two A/V programs installed at once. It’s up to your personal preference as to which one that is, but only install one.
I prefer Avast, hence why I am here. If you like Avira better, that’s fine too. Just be sure that there is only one installed (not just RUNNING, I mean installed!).
is the avast 5.0 be available this year?
is that a home or pro edition?
Avast 5 will be available in the next few months. They will have a paid and a free version available when the real release comes out. From what I’ve read and what I’ve heard, it should be around October.
The free version should come with automatic scheduling, and the paid version should come with a software firewall and several other advances.
It of course, will be up to you whether or not you spend the money for increased protection or not.
ok, thnx very much for the info and help.
Also i find Avast! more accurate in exploit detection than Avira. And i did see some false positive of Avira… For sure i alway recommanded Avast! its a really great program and now i will really like his version 5 with his great GUI. Its really amazing you can find some picture on Avast! Blog or just browse the forum
Mr.Agent
Is it me who can’t read or did anyone answer his first question ???
I think it’s answered: two antivirus at the same time will conflict.
i scan my pc and when it finds a virus, avira is showing what to do to the virus, why is that?is it normal?
Isn`t this the question?
Avira is probably asking what do do, Delet/rename/move to quarantine…
and yes it is normal, some antivirus programs do that but not all, some programs is taking an automatic decision
Which is the file name and the virus detected?
Isn’t it a conflict with avast?
If it is Avira, why didn’t he ask for Avira support team?
hi, I’m on your side with this one. antivir can be configured to make automatic decisions concerning scan detections. Jamar379probably isn’t aware of how to do this though.
If it is Avira, why didn't he ask for Avira support team?
Probably because avast forum is the best, here we help everyone with all kinds of trouble
Actually, you can have both installed, just have Avast as realtime and install Avira without the realtime module (custom install). This way you have the best of both worlds. I prefer Avast realtime detection over Avira because of the fewer FP’s. But if I download something off the net, I scan it with Avast and then with Avira. If one comes up with a detection, then it’s off to VirusTotal. ;D

You can really have both installed. But you can’t change the fact that conflict will always occur since avira is not absolute on-demand since it scans all read/written files, same thing for avast which is an on-access, does the same job as it is. So, with both of them having read/write scan, conflict is very probable.
Well i’ve tried avast pro for a year and decided to take a test on avira premium for a while now, i’m still think avira is the better in detection viruses. it said so in
http://www.av-comparatives.org/comparativesreviews/main-tests. I don’t know whether avast version 5.0 is better, but i’m hopping is improving alot. Probably by next year maybe www.av-comparatives.org/ testing on avast version 5.0.
ooopppss forgot to mention that avira support are not that good. Can’t even compare to avast ;D ;D
