Just installed a couple brand new (additional) hard drives in my pc and now Avast keeps popping up the main window randomly (see attached). Can happen 5 mins apart, sometimes up to an hour apart.
I’ve tried using the avast clean tool to uninstall/reinstall. I’ve triple checked all the notification settings. Avast isn’t showing any warnings otherwise, nor is Windows (11) itself. Can anyone please advise/help? It’s getting very frustrating when working or gaming.
In Settings, try setting Notifications to “Limited Mode”.
I run limited mode and it still does this sometimes.
Sorted, found our download manager was trying to launch the Avast main executable upon completion of each file, not sure how/when that got configured but have re-set it to the right setting and it’s no longer popping up. Thank you for the advice though!
Well, I had it happen again today. So there’s more going on. No software that would trigger it that I can think of.
It had a blue circle with a 1 in it in the task bar button if I recall corectly. But no notification or alert in the GUI.
It did it again! And again with a blue circle with a ‘1’ in it in the task bar.
And Again. This is the taskbar:
So it’s an ‘i’ instead of a 1.
It’s in the taskbar, and when I click on it, the main GUI opens without anything special. No alert. Only the typical bullshit notifications.
