An Avast window keeps opening automatically — it’s not a pop-up, but the actual Avast program window. If I close it, it reappears after a few seconds, even though there are no new notifications in the program. If I minimize it, it stays hidden. I’m using Silent Mode, but it behaves the same way in other modes as well. Please, help me.

Yes I am having the same problem too, just today then started. Even after i reinstall it still acts the same way… keep randomly open up the Avast UI like when you click the avast icon at the taskbar.

Same on my Avast. Silent mode is on, all notifications disabled but Avast open window each minute(if i close it) and stay down if minimized.

I am also having this problem. I started last night. I’ve cleaned out and disabled everything new since then, no change. Tried a lot of different things. It stopped popping up for a while then started again.

Same here. Started this morning. Avast UI keeps opening itself.
I’m guessing there was an app update and something is buggy.

Yes. I had an Avast “You are Protected” Window displayed soon after start this morning. Since I X’d it I have not seen a reappearance.
I am not using Silent Mode, just Limited mode.
I noticed a different program build since initial 25.10 version. Now 25.10.10528a (build 25.10.10528.762)
UI is the same 1.0.848

Same here, despite the silent mode. I close it and bam - it’s there again.It reappears every minute and it’s seriously annoying.

This is really annoying. Can we tag an avast dev here? I about to uninstall their software. I lost 8 matches on my game because of their annoying popup offers. This could be their downfall.

Same happening here. I found that if you do not close the window and bring your other windows to the front it does not interupt your work flow.
EDIT: Saying that……it has just popped back up after not doing it for two hours, and now again in just a few minutes.

Sam here. I tried to dactivate “silent mode” and now the avast windows isn’t reopening for about 20 minutes.

I just joined to add my voice to the chorus about the pop-up window. It wasn’t happening yesterday (5th November) but has been happening from the moment opened my laptop today. I’ve tried the various tricks with changing settings, etc but to no avail.
If it doesn’t get fixed soon I’ll be ditching Avast and looking elsewhere.

OK - it seems to be triggered by certain actions in my browser. I Login to cewrtain sites like my ISP and it triggers avast window popping up. I haven’t narrowed down exactly which actions - but For certain the login to my isp’s web portal triggers it to pop up every time. Also Browsing the ISP;s menus - clicking on a menu item that opens an option causes it to pop up as well.
I suspect it may have to do with the web shield.
EDIT:
Defintely the web shield cauusing the issue. disabling it makes it go away. It won’t allow you (me anyways) to disable the web shield on it’s own, so you have to disable all core shields then re-enable everything except the web shield.

Could be. I have the same problem and it does seem to happen when I open a new browser page which requires a login
I can confirm that disabling silent mode avast is not reopening anymore.
OK, It is Avast’s Web Shield that is causing this. SOmething in the new virus definition file downloaded last night is causing the issue - since there has not been an application update since october.
A temporary workaround is to do the following:
- Right-Click on your avast icon in the tray, and under manage shields, select disable permanently.
- Open the avast UI, and under Protection→ Core Shields enable everything except Web Guard.
- Also Enable Ransomware Shield, Firewall Remote Access Shield and Real Site again.
- Also - check your notifications - enable everything there except Web Guard.
Note that this will leave you unprotected when browsing, but get’s rid of the UI popping up all the time.

Disabling silent mode does not help.

It worked for me
It did stop popping up on the one site i was testing on, but popped up again on a different site.
Only way to get rid of it permanently is disabling web guard.
Same here. Avast is awful and keeps opening windows in every session even in silent mode, I definitely regret paying for it. With this recent bug it opens every 5 minutes it’s even worse.
