Normally I never install directly the new updates of programs (Firefox, Windows,..) because they could have problems. Sometimes its better to install them few days later when problems could have been solved already. In avast I get automatic update so I have to deal this now but I changed it to : ask for new updates in the future.
F this, I’m done.
I’m done. Avast has been uninstalled, and now I am using Aura. It had been over 31 hours of this BS and enough is enough.
Having the same issue, mentioned in another post. Will gladly uninstall and move on to another antivirus if this isn’t fixed ASAP, it makes using my computer infuriating.
Already reported the bug thru the application
I’m getting it too.
Even just having it open doesn’t solve the problem, it supersedes keyboard input as it attempts to pop up even when open already.
It also won’t come to the foreground when clicked on, it stays in the background of any and all windows. And in turn minimising windows it’s behind sometimes.
Also getting real sick of the upsell on other features as pop ups with fear mongering cold call style bs…
Uninstalled until this shitshow is fixed, really annoyed as I’ve recently bought a 2 year license ![]()
This explains much. Under core shields, Web Guard is “grayed” out and you get a note that says “Web Guard has moved to Spam Guardian and now includes AI-powered detection”. Considering all the other stuff that various AI hallucinate, it makes sense that this has stopped working correctly. Let’s see if turning it off fixes this or if it’s time to delete Avast.
Cancel and get refunded if you can. Not even having a mechanism to effectively report this or get feedback is totally ridiculous even for a free product of this type. They should at least want to hear about potential issues even if they are prioritizing support to premium users.
I have the Avast Premium. This is happening to me and everyone i support. This needs to be fixed in 24 hours. I will recommend to abandon Avast as a product. I called support today and they can’t even understand that its not a pop up its the actual application. I’ve seriously had it with Avast constantly presenting this window and fielding a zillion phone calls about it. I recommend everyone to cancel subscriptions. Crater the company.
Do you guys have an ETA on when will this be fixed?
I’m currently running Avast Free on a PC that I use to do remote work with and I find these constant reopening of Avast window to be quite disruptive.
If this doesn’t get fixed before the end of this week, I’m definitely switching to one of your competitors.
Doubtful. I got some pretty weird tastes in shady, um, “entertainment” so I’d be highly surprised if THIS many people were on the same sites as me

It seems that after last definitions update, the UI doesn’t appears anymore. I’ve reactivated the Scam Guardian too, it appears to be stable now.
P.S.: After 10 minutes it popped up again…
Just updated to the latest definitions (251107-10) and rebooted my PC. Problem hasn’t been resolved, it’s still popping up and grabbing window focus.
Edit: It actually seems to be fine now? Thank goodness, hope it stays that way.
my mitigating was is not to minimize but move it to one side out of hte way until only a part of it shows so fat it hasnt been popping up directly to my main screen.
Hi and thank you all for reporting this issue. We are working on a fix with top priority.
Thanks! Seems to bother quite a lot of people, including me ![]()
Can you please check if the problem persists when you temporarily switch to the “Limited Mode”?
(I know that @rocksteady already mentioned this mode, but it might be useful to hear from others.)
I tried and the problem remains
Tried all mentioned possible fixes: still popping out for me. It’s just sad that users suffer and code isn’t tested before release or devs wait like 2 days before even answering to forum thread. Uninstalling this.
Thank you for checking this. Can you please also check the “Smart Mode” option, followed by a reboot?
