EasyPass toolbar gone, program disabled by Firefox v22.x

Today, June 26, immediately after a Firefox update, I lost my EasyPass toolbar and the program is completely unusable…apparently blocked by Firefox as being incompatible with something called RoboForm. What is happening and how can I fix this?? My OS is Windows 7 Home/Premium. I am really irritated.

Hello stevetom

I am having exactly the same problem with Win 7 Home. Did you receive any response from Avast! or did you manage to overcome this problem?

Thanks for your attention.

Regards,

Rafael

I am having the same problem. I tried to email avast (support@avast.com) but got a return email saying that I need to submit online now, however; when I try to submit a ticket online it says that service is not available at this time. Very frustrating. My back-up browser is IE 10 which is not working properly either. It won’t recognize or fill in the username fields. Hopefully someone from Avast is monitoring these forums and is working on the problem.

I don’t have EasyPass but I think it is possible to make it to work with latest versions of
Firefox with compatibility addons.Maybe this one : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/checkcompatibility/?src=search
It is also possible to manually change max version in install.rdf file in addon.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Editing_an_add-on_to_change_its_compatibility
Hope this helps.

I am also having this exact same problem my OS is xp 64bit…I am not too impressed with the Easy Pass software, it’s given me nothing but troubles.

I just updated Firefox and same thing! Downloaded the Robo thing and found I would have had to pay for it! >:( So uninstalled it. Has anyone found a solution yet?

I put in a ticket a few days ago, so far no response.

So did I, yesterday. So far only the automatic response.

Had a reply this morning - answer is its not compatible with Firefox 22.0 and they are working on a fix. :frowning:

i had the same problem. i went to the the forum at FF and found a work-through. (hopefully FF or avast will come up with a fix, but in the meantime if you reinstall FF v 21 and change your settings in FF to NOT update automatically, then easypass toolbar will be back to how it should be!)
go here: FF v21 (US English) is available here:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/21.0/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%2021.0.exe

Thanks - I’ve done that now!

Well, going back to FF 21 will work, but it’s better to use FF ESR as workaround (until the problem is fixed).
FF ESR (17.0.7) has all FF security updates included, while FF 21 has some open holes.

Thanks - I’m afraid I’ve never heard of ESR

Fantastic! Thank you ;D

You’re welcome.

Dear Asyn, you have a thousand “Thanks” from me too.

NP 888anton, glad I could help.

i’m just wondering how we will know when FF can be updated to 22 without the avast easypass being incompatible? (i keep getting the pop-up about updating FF and i keep saying ‘not now’)

should we keep checking back here…to know the status of the ‘fix’??

thanks!

Since I switched to Firefox ESR things have been fine but yesterday I updated Firefox ESR from 17.0.7 to 17.0.8 and this morning my Login icon in the toolbar has gone again!
