It is the small Avast checked marker at the bottom of each email that is missing on all my email programs.
It always showed on all my old Win XP emails, but not now on win 10.
==================================== Mail Shield scans for threats in your incoming and outgoing email messages. Scanning applies only to messages sent or received using mail management software, such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird.
As far as I know, online email is checked by the service offering that email.
I use Gmail and it does an excellent job of culling spam.
Avast can be used to scan emails for programs like Outlook, etc.
As far as I know, online email is checked by the service offering that email.
Yes, all Email providers have spam/virus scan on there mail server (dont know of any that dont) so all mail recived and sendt is already scanned before you recive it or when you send one, it does not matter if you use a mail program or webmail
My screenshot says signature is checked, so where are the signatures on my emails ?
My Outlook.com and Thunderbird received emails have no Avast marker at the end of them.
Thunderbird used to have these on my old XP.
.
The second checkbox down is INCOMING emails which are much more important. THEY are the ones of potential danger to me.
Why does Avast NOT put a virus checked marker in these emails. Outgoing emails are of little interest to me.
Probably because the checkmark is really not needed. The email is checked. if it’s not infected, you get to see it.
If it’s infected you’ll get a warning.
I understand and thanks. The trouble with that is accountability = how do I know Avast are checking emails ?
Just sent a test email from Thunderbird to Outlook.com (to myself) - NO Avast marker shown on it
Sorry Asyn - absolutely nothing shown on either Sent or Received.
Avast is totally missing.
Something wrong here Asyn, I don’t think Avast is checking any of my mail
and I do not know why.
