Help

Is this something I need to have installed?

When I type in mscong and look at start up it’s no longer showing.

why dont you continue posting in the topic you already started about this. ::slight_smile:

Eddy was the only person who replied, then he went offline and I want to know whether or not I need what I posted in my attachment.

Sorry for starting another thread.

and starting a new topic help. ::slight_smile:

Merry Christmas to you too! :o

I will be looking for a better A/V Program!

Your welcome

Its your choice midnight.

Im considering to go over to some other AV at the moment too.

But in not sure yet to which one i should go.

If someone would tell me whether or not I need the Emupdater installed I wouldn’t think about switching. Do you know if I need it installed?

Emupdater searchs for Bug fixes in Background, and also its sometimes used for Updates if the
normal update routine is not working.

I can recommend to keep it.

I no longer have it. Something happened when I received the 10 Windows Updates this am… I don’t know to get it back.

Yes like Steven said is safe and I don’t see any reason to have doubts about safety or any other reason. I personally don’t see the reason to look for another av just for this reason, every av has his own way of updating things(virus database/program update). Since you use winpatrol and avast at the same time, you already have a strong and lite protection.
Kind regards,

I deleted Avast emupdate from strartup and I don’t have any problems.
Some users also deleted emupdate .exe file from Avast folder in Program Files and they don’t have any
problems. Also after clean installation of Avast there is no emupdate startup entry or file in Avast folder.

Thank you. Guess I won’t worry about not having it installed.

Are you sure now :stuck_out_tongue:

Not really. I done a repair of Avast as Eddy suggested but when I typed in msconfig, startup the Emupdater wasn’t there., also didn’t show up in Task Manager.

That emergency update was Web Shield update that was already applied so there is no need to run on every
Windows startup. You can find Avast emupdate in Task Scheduler. It checks for possible updates twice per day.

It isn’t showing up in Task Scheduler.

You’ll find Task Scheduler in Control Panel/System and Security/Administrative Tools.
